All Care’s Michelle Christensen, PA-C, Named Provider of the Year

Leaders from All Care Health Center returned from the Iowa Community Health Conference, held November 5–7, celebrating one of their own. At the event, Michelle Christensen, PA-C, was honored as the Provider of the Year by the Iowa Primary Care Association.
Michelle joined All Care Health Center in 2024 as both a medical provider and Associate Medical Director, charged with advancing patient care at a clinic-wide level. To achieve this, she designed and implemented a mentorship and training program that has transformed All Care’s clinical culture.
Her approach has been both comprehensive and practical—combining didactic lectures, peer review, one-on-one coaching, small-group case discussions, and shadowing—to amplify continued learning and ensure that every clinician has the tools to succeed. If a provider encounters a challenging case, everyone knows Michelle will drop everything to help.
Beyond skill-building, Michelle helped shape a cohesive, high-performing team by pairing high expectations with kindness, empathy, and humor. She established a culture rooted in curiosity, continuous learning, and patient-centered care—anchored by a “no-drama, we-can-do-this” attitude and a strong belief in healthy work-life balance. “She just makes coming to clinic each day fun and energizing,” said Dr. Kristine McVea, Chief Medical Officer, adding, “The depth of her impact has been extraordinary and exemplifies the very best of clinical excellence and dedication to our mission.”
Michelle’s leadership extends into the systems that shape care delivery. She has improved clinic efficiency and the patient experience through enhanced use of the electronic health record, streamlined workflows, and coaching on effective collaboration, pre-visit huddles, and patient agenda-setting—making each visit smoother for both patients and staff. She also developed a new clinician orientation program, refined training, and created a student rotation guide—strengthening the provider pipeline and ensuring consistent, high-quality onboarding. This leadership has yielded remarkable outcomes that highlight Michelle’s ability to translate vision and leadership into measurable improvements in patient health.
Michelle is deeply committed to building long-term relationships with her patients. She provides personalized care tailored to individual needs and emphasizes preventive medicine.
“In every way, Michelle has focused on making All Care Health Center a great place to work while elevating the quality of care for our patients,” McVea said. “She embodies what it means to be an Outstanding Provider—clinically skilled, compassionate, innovative, and deeply committed to both colleagues and community.”
Michelle’s dedication, leadership, and approachable nature make her not only a trusted clinician but also a vital part of the All Care family and the greater community.
